A widow and her children are homeless today after their five bedroom house at Wainibokasi, Nausori was destroyed in an early morning fire today.
An official at the National Fire Authority in Nausori confirms receiving the report of the fire around 2am and upon reaching Ratu Kadavulevu road in Wainibokasi, the house was completely on fire and could not be saved.
The cause of fire and estimated cost of damage is still unknown at the moment.
Meanwhile, a clothes shop in Navua was also destroyed in a fire last night. The shop was located in a wooden building and the fire started around 11pm. Damage is estimated around $30,000.
Firefighters managed control the blaze and save a bulk store belonging to another businessman. Police are yet to determine the cause of the fire.
