With only four months to go for the Rugby World Cup 7s, we asked National Coaching Director, Frank Boivert if he will take the team to Russia.

Boivert said he is currently looking after the Under 18, Under 20, the women’s team and the National team and he has a lot on his plate.

We asked Boivert if more focus can be placed on the National 7s team as the World Cup only comes once in every four years.

When questioned, Boivert agrees that our coaches need to talk about clear strategies and goals before the game and during half time after concerns were raised by many about the lack of game plans.

Boivert also said there was a specific issue that was beyond their control in the NZ 7s that may have resulted in our players performing below expectation.

Fijivillage asked Boivert again whether he will bring the issue within his control as the National Coaching Director.

We also asked him to explain to the fans if this issue is on or off the field.

We are still trying to speak to FRU Chief Executive, Manasa Baravilala who is in Las Vegas.

The 7s management has placed a media ban and are not saying anything from the US.
