2007 World Cup winning coach, Jake White has declared his intention to apply to take the role of South Africa coach, after de Villiers announced after South Africa’s loss to the Wallabies that he would be standing down.

White who took over the ACT Brumbies coaching role in April is determined to return to South Africa though it would be difficult to see how the Canberra-based outfit could stand in his way.

White added that the team he coached didn’t just win the World Cup, however they stayed in the top three of the IRB rankings for eight years and is adamant to take the Springboks back to that level.

The first semifinal at 8pm on Saturday will see France meet Wales and at 8pm on Sunday the All Blacks meet the Wallabies and the live commentary of both the matches can be heard on our sister station Viti-FM.
