Where is Slade getting information from-PM
Following the Forum Ministerial Contact Group meeting in Auckland earlier this week, Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith revealed that Slade had presented a report to the group that the situation has worsened in Fiji.
Commodore Bainimarama said it is clear that Slade is actively working against Fiji and was also allegedly behind the plans to try to shift the Forum Secretariat from Suva.
He said the Forum Secretariat should be actively trying to enhance trade in the Pacific but Commodore Bainimarama said it is clear that Slade is opting to leave Fiji out of the trade talks.
Commodore Bainimarama also raised the question on where Slade got his information to present to the Forum Group since he has had no talks with him since he took over the position.
Fijivillage News has asked Slade on whether he presented the report in the Auckland meeting on Monday and whether he can reveal the contents of the report.
When asked to comment on Commodore Bainimarama's statement, the Forum Secretary General declined to comment at this stage.
Meanwhile the Heads of Missions for the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions in Fiji are yet to respond to comments made by Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama to get out of their offices and find out what is really happening on the ground in the country.
Questions sent to the two Acting High Commissioners yesterday remain unanswered this hour.
Commodore Bainimarama said he is concerned that misleading information is being fed by the officials of the two High Commissions to Canberra and Wellington.
