The Land Transport Authority has clarified that people who have not registered their vehicle over a period of time will have to pay certain fees during the wheel tax amnesty period which begins from 1st June.

LTA Chief Executive Etuate Koroi said only the arrears owed to the LTA will be waived, however, people will have to pay certain fees for vehicle registration.

According to Koroi, the step to waive the arrears was taken after consideration that some vehicles are lying in the garages and some people do not have enough money to register these vehicles with the LTA.
