With just hours away from the start of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s, defending champion Westfield Babas are confident of defending their title.

Speaking to Fijivillage Coach Epeli Lagiloa said they are aware of the threat posed by every team coming into the tournament.

Lagiloa added that the side is keeping a low profile as they will treat every game as a final and he is optimistic of the teams chance of winning their second Marist 7s.

Westfield will be without Pio Tuwai who has been rested due to an injury and Waisea Nacuqu who will feature for the Wardens teams.

The side will be boosted with the likes of Asaeli Vula, Vatemo Ravouvou and Samu Saqiwa.

Westfield is pooled with West Roosters from New Zealand, Uluinakau 3 and Nailega from Tailevu.

The Marist 7s will start today at 8am with Westfield Babas playing the West Roosters Wellington side.

Meanwhile, other Vodafone Fiji 7s players that will be rested for the tournament include Benito Eremasi, Leo Naikasau and Osea Kolinisau and they are also in doubt for the Tokyo and Hong Kong 7s.

Vodafone Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan will announce a 16 member squad this Saturday to prepare for the Japan 7s which will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of this month.
