With the alarming number of 132 cases of Dengue reported in the Western Division, Divisional Medical Officer Western Dr. Tharid Ali said they are coping in dealing with these cases.
With recent reports of problems in health services around the country Dr Ali said they are not facing any problems with shortages of staff or supplies and each patient is being given adequate care.
Dr ali added the largest number of cases reported so far is from the Lautoka area with more than 70 people, and this is usually attributed to the high population density of the area.
The increase in Dengue cases has prompted 2 Town Councils to start their spraying campaigns.
The Nasinu and Sigatoka Town council will be carrying out their spraying campaigns within the next week, while the Suva City Council, has confirmed that they started spraying from yesterday and will continue today to see that ratepayers are protected.
A total of 318 cases have been reported around the country.
