Wining Company Westech Limited is ready to take over the Vatukoula Gold mines from next week after the Interim government signed a deal with them yesterday.

Negotiations between the two parties took over seven months.

Director Brian Wesson said all final preparations are done and they will move in the mines from next week.

Meanwhile, Wesson confirms the Interim Government will be paid back over $2.6 million which they spent so far in maintaining the mines.

Miners and their families in Tavua and Vatukoula have been waiting for this decision by the interim government whether the mines will re-open or not from December 5th last year when Emperor Gold Mines closed off the mines.
