The Nadi Weather office has confirmed that the Western and South Western parts of the country are expected to feel the indirect effects of Tropical Cyclone Funa from this morning.

The cyclone is expected to bring in heavy rainfall in Nadi, Lautoka and Ba as the cyclone moves further South. Flash flooding is expected and people living in low-lying areas should take precautions.

At 5 o'clock this morning the tropical cyclone was located over 720 km West-North-West of Nadi and is turning South-East at 12 knots or 22 km/h and is expected to turn Southwards later tonight.

Deputy Director, Alipate Waqaicelua confirms the cyclone is expected to pass the west of Fiji later tonight however Fiji will not be directly affected.
