The word revenge sounds loud and clear in the Wales camp ahead of tomorrow’s Test match against the Flying Fijians in Cardiff.

The last time Wales played Fiji, it was a 38 34 upset, which saw then coach Gareth Jenkins lose his job which led to Warren Gatland’s return to the international stage.

All week the message at the team hotel has been “Remember Nantes 2007”.

It was there that Fiji famously danced their way through to the knockout stages of the World Cup, causing what many called “one of Welsh rugby’s darkest days” in the process.

Captain Ryan Jones gave an impassioned speech on Monday, underlining to the new boys what this rematch means as it is a chance to get some revenge.

Coach Gatland wants his team, showing nine changes to that which fell short against South Africa last week, to display “structure”, “intensity” and “ruthlessness” against the Fiji.

The Flying Fijians and Wales game tomorrow kicks off at 8.30am.
