Former Fijian Holdings Limited chief executive officer Sitiveni Weleilakeba today denied the fresh charges laid against him.

FICAC prosecutor Henrietta Matakitoga made an application to withdraw initial charges of forgery and to lay fresh charges of giving false information to a public servant.

It is alleged that on 27th October, 1992, Weleilakeba gave false information to the Registrar of Companies thereby causing the Registrar to declare Fijian Holdings Limited a public company.

Magistrate Amaniasi Katonivualiku was told that such an act would not have taken place if the true state of facts concerning the Fijian Holdings Limited Resolution were known to him.

Weleilakeba pleaded not guilty and has been ordered to pay a fresh bail bond of $350.

The case has been adjourned till 26th March, 2009.
