The Nadi Weather Office has confirmed that heavy rainfall may cause localised flash flooding in low-lying areas around the country from tonight.

Duty Forecaster, Samisoni Waqa-vaka-toga says a convergence zone with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving to the north of Fiji.

He says the convergence zone will not affect the country directly as this will not pass over the group however the cloud bands will bring in rainfall heavier at times.

People in the low-lying areas need to take necessary precautions.
