Stephen Betham will take back the reins as the interim coach for the Samoa 7's team for the Rugby World Cup in Russia.

Three years ago he led Samoa to the IRB Sevens World Series crown, an amazing achievement for the small Island nation.

More recently he has masterminded recent victories in South Africa against both Scotland and Italy to climb to seventh in the IRB World Rankings.

Betham has opted for a few old heads to come back, like Uale Mai and Afa Aiono will captain the side.

Samoa is in Pool C with Zimbabwe, Philippines and Kenya.

Meanwhile, weather will not be a factor for most of the Digicel Fiji 7s players who arrived in Moscow yesterday for the 7s Rugby World cup.

The temperature in Moscow is hovering between 14 to 18 degrees Celsius.

Vice Captain Vereniki Goneva said they are aware of the conditions in Russia and have prepared for it.

The Fiji 7s team will have its captain’s run tomorrow.

Meanwhile, other teams like New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Samoa and England have arrived in Moscow.

Fiji will play Tonga at 12.28am this Saturday in their first pool match of the 7s World Cup.

We then take on Uruguay at 6.28pm Saturday and Fiji’s last pool match is against Wales at 12.42am Sunday.

The Cup quarterfinals start at 9pm Sunday, the Cup semis kick off at 12.40am Monday while the World Cup 7s final will start at 4.55am Monday.
