The Nadi Weather Office is hoping to get some funds to complete the installation work of the radar in Labasa.

Director Rajendra Prasad said the project which has been pending for two years has been placed on the high priority list because of the importance of the radar to their cyclone detection work.

Prasad said the radar after installation will be used during the 2009-2010 cyclone season.

When questioned if the delay of installation will affect their work since we are in the cyclone season now, he said they are coping with the equipment they currently have.
