The Nadi Weather office director Rajendra Prasad has been sent on leave with full pay pending an internal investigation against him involving complaints from the staff at his office.

Prasad, who was sent on leave yesterday afternoon, confirmed to Fijivillage that he has been sent on leave but said no reason or explanation has been given to him by the Public Service Commission for the step taken.

Prasad said he believes it involves some complaints against him by the members of the staff to the Transport Ministry.

Permanent Secretary for the Public Service, Taina Tagicakibau confirms that Prasad has been sent on leave as it is normal procedure when dealing with investigations. She refused to reveal the details of the complaints against Prasad.
