Mining Company Westech Limited said they were not informed before about the payment of the outstanding taxes incurred by the Emperor Gold Mines to the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority.
Speaking to Legend FM News from Australia Director Brian Wesson said they have got audited accounts from Price Water House Coopers which shows no outstanding taxes owed by Westec.
Wesson believes the matter will be resolved by the end of the week. FIRCA has freeze bank accounts of Westech as part of a garnishee action to recover taxes owed by Emperor Gold Mines.
Interim Lands and Mineral recourses Minister, Tevita Vuibau could not be reached for comments.
