“The $5000 is not an issue because we want the truth to prevail”.

Those were the words of Nadroga Rugby Union President Tiko Matawalu as they are still not happy with the decision made by the FRU Independent Games Tribunal.

Matawalu said they were verbally informed about the decision and they were also told that they have earned the $5000 for finishing first after the Digicel Cup round robin games.

Matawalu added that they can take the matter to court but they have been advised by the Patron of Nadroga rugby and high chief Na Turaga Nakalevu Ratu Sakiusa Makutu not to do so for the love of rugby.

FRU Operations Manager Vilikesa Rinavuaka said the Unions were verbally informed about the decisions as the letters are with their lawyers before it will be sent out.

The tribunal had ruled on Tuesday that the Games Committee's ruling remains whereby the deduction of 5 points was because Nadroga had forfeited the game in Round 1 against Naitasiri.

Meanwhile, Nadroga will host Namosi in the first Digicel Cup semifinal at Lawaqa Park and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station VITI FM.

The second semifinal will be played next week between Suva and Nadi.
