“We need to assemble the best and strongest team ever.”

These are the words of Vodafone Flying Fijians coach John McKee as he gets ready to travel overseas to talk to the Fijian players playing in the Super Rugby, Top 14, Aviva Premiership and other competitions around the world who have shown their interest in representing Fiji at the Rugby World Cup in September.

McKee said they are expecting to assemble one of the strongest teams after seeing the huge number of Fijian players in the Super Rugby competition.

One of the players who will be meeting with McKee this weekend is Waratahs rising star Taqele Naiyaravoro.

Meanwhile Naiyaravoro has already told Fijivillage that he would love to represent Fiji if given the opportunity.

McKee added that he is also keeping his eye on some local players and is working with the Telecom Fiji Warriors coaches on their Pacific Rugby Challenge campaign which kicks off on the 10th of next month.

The Vodafone Flying Fijians will have the full squad during the Pacific Nations Cup in August before heading out to Europe for the World Cup in September.

Fiji is pooled with England, Australia, Wales and Uruguay and will take on England in their first and the opening match of the Rugby World Cup on September 19th.
