Police have today admitted that they failed in their duty after
34-year-old Josua Naivalu escaped Police custody from the Suva court house yesterday.

Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said a special task force team has been set up to recapture Naivalu who escaped yesterday after he was sentenced to ten months imprisonment for burglary and theft.

Tudravu said there is no excuse for what happened and an internal investigation is currently being conducted to determine what happened.

Members of the public are once again being encouraged to contact 917 or their nearest community post or station with information that could help locate Naivalu.

Naivalu on the 18th of April this year broke into Fong Lee Seafood restaurant in Suva and stole items valued at $850.
