We do not recognize the constitution - Beddoes
United Front spokesperson Mick Beddoes said the Social Democratic and Liberal Party, the Fiji Labour Party and the National Federation Party will not just accept the process set out.
Beddoes said they do not recognize the government and the process undertaken to put through the 2013 Constitution.
He said the United Front wants the Yash Ghai Commission draft constitution to be brought back, a Caretaker Government to be appointed and a Constituent Assembly to look at the Ghai Commission draft.
However, the government has already said that this process will not be undertaken and the 2013 Constitution is the way forward.
Beddoes said this is unacceptable.
When questioned, Beddoes said they will also decide in due course on whether SODELPA, FLP and NFP will contest the elections under the system set out by the government.
Beddoes said the United Front will meet this week and discuss issues in relation to the constitution and the group’s roadmap.
