These are the words of FNPF's Manager Corporate Affairs Wainikiti Bogidrau as the FNPF is inundated with requests for assistance from members around the country in preparation for the new school year.
Similarly, in the case of a natural disaster or other financial difficulties, people queue up for assistance at the FNPF.
Bogidrau said members often forget the reason their FNPF is deducted and for many the funds are not replaced and just continues to diminish.
Meanwhile, people who earn less than $150 a week are entitled to withdraw from their FNPF Account under the Low Income Earners Assistance Scheme.
Those who qualify get a one-off payment of $500 for the year and while withdrawals under their Education Assistance Scheme is only for Forms Seven to tertiary education, the funds released under the Low Income Earners Assistance Scheme can be used for education at any level.
