We Will Not Go Back: Key
The new, New Zealand Prime Minister, who defeated Helen Clark to claim the Prime Minister's seat said as part of his Party's task when they take office would be to address the forecasted looming economic downturn.
This follows a prediction earlier this week by the Deutsche Bank an international Investment Bank were they said that next year New Zealand's economy would face its biggest slowdown, where it would shrink by 0.7%, adding that unemployment would peak at 7%.
Key adds that before addressing any other Policies, it would be best to address the national issue.
Key also hopes that he be sworn into office in time to attend the Asia Pacific Economy Summit in Peru as he will be able to be more informed in the financial crisis.
Still on the New Zealand Elections:
Former Leader of Opposition and now the Prime Minister, John Key's Party, the national Party has claimed 65 of the 120 seats in Parliament.
Outgoing Prime Minister Helen Clark has also stepped down from her post as the Labour Party leader but has kept her Mount Albert Electorate seat in Parliament.
And Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters of the New Zealand First Party losses his Tauranga Northern Maori seat in the elections to Simon Bridges.
It is after nine years New Zealanders will get to taste a new form of governance as National Party leader John Key won a decisive victory.
The National Party had secured 45.5% of Party vote with Labour getting 33.8% which means that that gives a potential National-led Government, 65 of the 120 available seats in Parliament.
