It may take a few years for the Public Accounts Committee headed by Manu Korovulavula to receive the Auditor General's reports for 2007 and 2008 including the audit report on Army Commander Commodore Frank Bainimarama's leave payout.

This after Auditor General Eroni Vatuloka stated that the audit report into a $184,740 payout to Commodore Bainimarama for leave he said was owed from 1978, is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

Korovulavula revealed today that when the Public Accounts Committee was appointed, the Auditor General gave them 66 pending reports and they have managed to go through 10 out of the 66 to date.

He said the committee is an independent body and will go through any reports when they are submitted to them by the Auditor General.
