Those were the words of DISMAC Principal Officer for Cyclone Preparation Patiliai Dobui who said people must listen to weather reports and take heed of cyclone warnings.
Dobui said to protect themselves from further damage during a cyclone, they must cut down big trees surrounding their homes, put down or tie to the ground loose sheds or corrugated iron, to keep batteries or candles in the house in case of power blackouts, as well as food supplies and lots of water.
The Nadi Weather Office Director Rajendra Prasad earlier said during this cyclone season Fiji should expected around 8-9 cyclones.
