The newly appointed chairman of the Great Council of Chiefs Review Taskforce said they are fulfilling the promise made to the indigenous Fijians that they will be consulted on all changes proposed to the chiefly body.
Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo he respects the advice from the former chairman of the GCC Sitiveni Rabuka however they have to fulfill their promises to the 14 Provincial Councils.
Earlier today Sitiveni Rabuka said undertaking consultations is just duplicating the work already carried out and is a waste of tax dollars.
The change in criteria in the GCC membership will allow only the installed chiefs in the respective "Vanua" to become members of the new look GCC and the Review Committee has to once again consult the 14 provinces on the change.
The Committee sits tomorrow.
