The Pacific Centre for Public Integrity's Executive Director reiterates that contrary to claims made by State lawyers, her legal case is not funded by AUSAID, NZAID nor any other foreign government or its agencies.
Speaking from Wellington, Angie Heffernan said it is also clear that foreign governments do not fund legal cases against the state.
Heffernan said unlike some people she doesn't have certain privileges enjoyed by members of the interim government who have the luxury of using tax dollars to defend their actions.
This comes after serious concerns were raised by the High Court and lawyers representing the state on who will foot the bill for PCPI Director, Angie Heffernan's court costs which State lawyers say is set to stand at around $130,000.
Lawyer representing the State, Adish Narayan said another Judge presiding over the case earlier, Justice Hickie had raised concerns and had directed that Ausaid and NZaid be notified of the court proceedings and questioned whether they were footing the bill for Heffernan's legal battles.
