We are trying to find ways to help women overcome barriers to the work on the elimination of violence against women.
These are the words of Fiji Women's Crisis Centre Coordinator Shameema Ali on discussions at the Fifth Pacific Regional Meeting on Violence Against Women currently underway at the Naviti Resort.
Ali said they also have to be careful what is said at the meet on Fiji as there is police presence at their meeting in Naviti.
However, Assistant Police Director Operations SSP Erami Raibe said police are not at the conference in Naviti to monitor what is being said as they have been invited to be part of the meeting.
He stressed that representatives from regional police organizations are also attending the meeting which deals with Violence against Women.
