The maintenance work at the Waila Treatment plant has been completed by the water engineers this morning and residents in the Suva/Nausori corridor should start receiving normal water supply soon.

Water Authority of Fiji Manager Corporate Affairs, Michelle Tevita-Singh said water pressure is low in some areas as they are trying to fill the reservoir.

She is hopeful pressure will normalise later today once the reservoirs are filled to capacity.

Meanwhile, the Water Authority said they will have to work with relevant authorities to implement laws to impose penalties against people caught wasting water during this dry spell.

She made the comments when Fijivillage asked her whether people can be charged for wasting water after she called on people to use water wisely as water levels at the reservoirs have dropped to critical levels.
