Water restored in certain areas
For Suva-Nausori corridor the water supply is expected to fully recover by the weekend as system improves.
This has been confirmed by Works Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete.
She said for Deuba and Navua water supply is slowly being restored as water carting continues.
In Sigatoka water supply is slowly being restored, there is a heavy silt at Matovo intake as diggers are clearing the silt.
Water supply is slowly improving in Lautoka as it is expected to fully normalize by the weekend, for Nadi water supply is improving as power supply has normalized in many areas, 80% of water supply in Ba have been restored, in Tavua 90% of the area have been restored with water and by the weekend most areas are expected to be fully restored.
Meanwhile, sections of Kings Road remains closed to all traffic this morning as the Works Ministry is hopeful that like Queens Road they will fully open the Kings Highway later today.
Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said works continue from Korovou, Wailotua and Nayavu, as they want to fully open the Kings Road today.
Meanwhile, roads still closed to all traffic include, Namosi road in Taunovo Bay area, Namagumagua road is half closed, Vunidawa road in Nagali as emergency works continue on the visible cracks on the bridge, Monasavu road, Wanivesi road and Naivicula Bridge in Korovou, which has been washed away is still closed.
To the Western Division in Nadroga, the Biausevu road, in Ba the Balevuto road and Korobuya road and Irish crossing, Balata road in Tavua remains closed to all traffic, Monasavu road is only open to larger vehicles from Vouvou and in Rakiraki the Nabalabala road remains closed to all traffic.
