A number of water projects are in pipeline for this year and the Water Supply department aims to end the long standing water problems in the Delainavesi area.
Residents living in Wailoku and Delainavesi have been facing water disruptions for months now and Water Supply Department Spokesperson, Maika Nagalu said they have plans to replace the water pipes at Wairua.
He also adds that they are also looking into setting water pipes from the Rewa Delta to Lokia, Nausori. Nagalu said people living in Rewa are also facing water disruptions after Tropical Cyclone Mick.
Meanwhile, those living in areas on Ratu Mara Rd from the Samabula Police Post to Lakeba Street, the whole of Rewa Street, high areas of Domain, Bau Street, Duncan Road, Ma'afu Street and high areas of Ratu Sukuna Road can expect normal water supply by this afternoon after supply was shut down at 2pm.
Nagalu said their engineers are currently working on one the mains which has burst.
