Water problems could worsen due to the continuous dry spell in the Central/Eastern division.

Divisional Water Engineer Central/Eastern Serei-coko Yanu-yanu-rua said they are monitoring the situation very closely as signs of a drought can be seen and some rivers have started to dry.

He said if the dry weather continues for a few more weeks, water levels at the reservoirs are expected to drop significantly.

He added that people should brace themselves for the worst.

Meanwhile, some water trucks have been seen refilling water from a fire hydrant in Namadi Heights to cart water to affected areas in Tacirua.
