We had some rainfall in the past two weeks but that has not increased the water levels at the Monasavu Dam.
These are the words of Fiji Electricity Authority Chief Executive Officer, Hasmukh Patel during a presentation on the operations and viability of FEA last night.
Patel told Fijivillage that though there was some rainfall in the past few days, the water levels have increased only by a few millimeters.
Patel added they are generating electricity using diesel for Viti Levu and as a result are incurring huge losses.
During the presentation, Patel also highlighted FEA's Future Renewable Energy power development plans, the need to review the electricity tariff and the need to conserve energy.
