Water cut for Ba/Tavua residents
Water Authority spokesperson, Maika Nagalu said they have been alerted of the burst pipe and have mobilized their engineers to fix the problem as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, for those in high areas in the Central Division, Nagalu added that they will continue to have very low pressure or at times no water in their taps as their engineers struggle to fix the clarifier at the Wainibuku treatment plant.
He added this is very important equipment and as a result of the flood waters, they are not able to meet the public demand for water.
Areas affected since yesterday are Nakasi, 9 miles, Davuilevu housing, Makoi, Narere, Nadawa, Nepani, valelevu, Kinoya, Laucala Beach, Tuirara, Navewakau, New Town, Tacirua East, Caubati, Cunningham, Vatuwaqa, Raiwaqa, Tacirua village and Tacirua heights.
Water supply will normalise once the clarifier is back in operation.
Meanwhile, water trucks will be sent out to those areas in the West affected by the burst main in Tavua.
