The Water Supply Department is concerned that a huge amount of water is lost each year due to illegal connections.
Divisional Water Engineer Central/Eastern, Serei-Cokocoko-Yanuyanurua said that some people have been found using illegal meter connections between the Suva/Nausori corridor.
He added that these problems are normally found in densely populated areas and squatter settlements.
A number of people found with illegal meter connections are now under police investigation.
