With the current water problems residents in Suva are facing, the Water supply department has revealed that they are now looking at a few issues in order to ease the burden on consumers.

The water Supply department had earlier revealed to Fijivillage news that to cater for increasing number of residents, a total of 150 million litres of water have to be supplied daily.

So in order to cater for this demand, Water Supply spokesperson, Maika Nagalu also revealed that at the moment talks to secure funds are underway to get back up generators for their 2 pump stations.

And adds that though they don’t have a warning system in place that will sound an alarm as soon as water supply gets affected, they will be increasing their watch on the stations .

On Monday night, residents living in high areas of Lami, Tamavua-i-wai, Tamavua and Wailoku had water problems due to a mechanical breakdown at their pumping station in Waimanu.
