The Water Supply Department in the Central Division is monitoring the water levels at the reservoirs due to the current dry weather conditions.

Divisional Water Engineer Central/Eastern, Serei Cokocoko Yanuyanurua said during the dry spell, the monitoring process is done everyday. He said water levels vary and it normalises in half a day.

He adds there are some mechanical faults in the pumps which caused water supply disruptions in the past few days.

Meanwhile, residents of Makoi, Tovata and Caubati, Nasinu have raised concern that they face water cuts almost every night and supply normalises early in the morning.

They are calling on authorities to solve the water crisis as soon as possible.

Nadi water supply confirm that low water levels at Lolobalavu reservoir has caused this problem and they are trying to find out how this happened. They believe the problem will be fixed this week.

More water trucks are being arranged today to cart water in the affected areas.
