Water Level Drops in Narewa Village
Speaking to Fijivillage, Kalesi Dawai said at the moment only 20 houses are still affected by the flood waters.
In Nawaka, district rep Kiniviliame Labalaba says the villagers from Nawaka are helping the families in Korociri and Nawatekumu cleaning up their homes and moving their belongings to high ground.
Labalaba added the 500 families from these settlements have moved to the Nawaka village hall and to Nadi College.
In Namotomoto village, Makereta Bale also confirmed a drop in water level but the villagers who are affected by the flood are still staying with relatives at higher places as they expect the tides to come in this afternoon.
Namaka resident Kelaini Nicholls said a lot of the key roads in Nadi are under flood waters and as a result most workers were unable to get to their work places this morning.
Nicholls said there is even a boat carting people on the flooded roads.
