The Fiji Electricity Authority has today clarified that continuous low rainfall in the Monasavu areas and the latest weather forecast report received from the Meteorological Center has forced FEA to request 40 businesses to generate their own electricity.
CEO Hasmuk Patel said water level in the Monasavu Dam continues to decrease and urgent steps should be taken now.
He said the weather office has clearly stated that we will receive below average rainfall in the December to March next year.
