Members of the Fiji Bottled Water Institute are confident that through dialogue an amicable solution can be found regarding the compensation to be paid to government for bottling mineral water.
Fiji Water Director External Affairs and Members of the Institute David Roth said the water bottlers will stick to their word given to the Military Council that good faith negotiations will be held on the matter.
However, Island Chill Director Jay Dayal, who was appointed to speak on behalf of the ten water bottling companies, had earlier said that they will not agree to pay any compensation.
The 20 cents per liter export duty and 20 cents per liter excise duty on mineral water was officially revoked after a special sitting of Cabinet.
