Water Supply Department is working on upgrading water pipes in the Suva City area.
Spokesperson Maika Nagalu said some of the structure are very old which needs to be replaced and following some incidents last week where main pipes burst causing water disruptions, there are now plans to change these old pipes.
He added that after a proper assessment is carried out they will be able to put a figure on how much the upgrading is expected to cost.
