The Water department will be carrying out audits for all water meters around the country to find out how many meters have been installed illegally.

Spokesperson Sainiana Waqanabete said this exercise may be carried out in the next six months after allegations surfaced that some connections were not done the right way.

It is believed the water department is doing a major investigation into the matter.
