The Interim Public Utilities Minister has questioned Water Department officials why some reservoirs are sitting empty after being built.
Mahendra Chaudhry has revealed that during his inspection tour of the water supply installations in the Central/Eastern division, he found out that some of the reservoirs have not been connected to the main water supply system.
He said the reasons given just do not make any sense.
Meanwhile, investigations are now underway why the Kings Road has not been fully sealed to date although more than 40 million dollars has been spent on the project over the last ten years.
Chaudhry said he agrees that the Roads Department has not carried out its work efficiently and millions of tax dollars have been lost.
Chaudhry said the people in charge should be held accountable for this mess.
