Residents living in the Suva and Nasinu area are frustrated with the sudden water cuts they are facing since about 8 o'clock last night.
Fijivillage News spoke to a number of people who say they are facing difficulties in sending their children to school and going to work.
A Nasinu housewife Mrs Ali told Fijivillage News that she cannot send her children to school this morning because of the water cuts.
A Nadawa resident Sanjeev Ram said they were caught by surprise this morning.
Pritika Kumar of Nadera said she does not have enough water to make milk for her baby this morning.
A blockage in the main system supplying water to the Wainibuku Reservoir had caused the water shutdowns.
Speaking to Fijivillage News this morning, divisional Water Engineer Central/Eastern Sereicokocoko Yanuyanurua said they had hoped to restore water by the early hours of this morning but were unable to do so as repair works took long.
