The Divisional Water Engineer Western said the intermittent water cuts which are sometimes experienced by people in Sigatoka and Ba, are due to the repair works currently being undertaken.
Samuela Tubui said people should understand the damages caused by the floods caused extensive damage to most of their pumps and pipes which they are working around the clock to fix.
Tubui said they divert the water supply to certain areas at a time to ensure everyone gets some supply which may also result in others receiving water cuts.
Meanwhile, Fiji Water will today continue helping residents in Nadi in providing safe drinking water in flood affected areas.
Fijivillage has been informed by Fiji Water spokesperson Nirmal Singh that Fiji Water will be distributing water at Koroivolu Park in Nadi and residents are requested to bring their own water containers.
Fiji Water has again stressed that they will not be distributing water bottles but will be carting water so Nadi residents are to bring their containers and buckets to fill their water in.
