Water Cut Continues
Media Liaison Officer at the Water and Sewerage Department, Maika Nagalu, said their engineers have been working on a pipe that carries treated water from Wainibuku to reservoirs in Toorak and Flagstaff from last night.
He added that the water supply is expected to normalise at midday today.
The areas affected are Nasole, Nadawa, Nadera, Nepani, the lower Rewa Delta and Narere.
Meanwhile, a father of two is calling for authorities to address their water problems as families are turning to the rivers to get water for everyday use.
Mika Cabealawa of Vunivau said the area was, for the first time in a long time, experiencing water cuts and many families were facing difficulties especially as the water supply had been cut since Wednesday of last week.
Cabealawa also added that various calls to the PWD were to no avail as there were no water trucks visiting the area.
However, Nagalu said he is not aware of the water cut in the North and would look into the issue.
