The Water Authority of Fiji is now working with respective Commissioners and Ministers to provide assistance to those customers who are experiencing water disruption.

The Authority has purchased thirty, five thousand litre water tanks to be distributed to villagers and islands around the country and over six hundred, twenty liter water containers that will also be distributed to households to share water from these tanks.

An extra 10,000 litres water tank will also be installed at strategic locations in the village to serve residents.

Team Leader Corporate Communications, Michelle Singh said that water to various islands will be transported by barges and extra water pumps and hoses have also been purchased to pump the water from the barge to the water tanks that will be placed at the assigned locations on the island.

The Water Authority has also stressed that customers should refrain from using water from their taps to wash their cars, water their gardens or clean their driveways.
