Watch children’s health parents urged
Filipe Bole said given the threat of the Swine Flu, it would be advisable that the children's state of health be watched closely.
152 people are believed to have died from the Swine Flu while 1,614 are suspected to be infected.
He added the advice given by the Health Ministry must be discussed at home, so that children are aware of the dangers they are exposed to.
Bole added the two weeks would be an ideal time to also strengthen and enrich family ties and parents should realize that quality time spent with children will go a long way in moulding children's characters so that they become law abiding citizens.
The first term holidays starts this Friday.
Meanwhile, under the Ministry through the assistance of the Pacific Regional Initiatives for the Delivery of Basic Education, a Unit called the Professional Development Unit has been established to train school leaders.
The Unit has two training modules mainly the current leaders’ module and the future leaders’ module which includes training in change management, school policy, school planning and leadership competence framework.
The future leaders’ module will be adopted by those who will take replacement positions of head teachers and principals.
