It could be students against the masters in the Fiji Bitter Cup final this afternoon at the TFL National Stadium.

Barring any upsets in the Cup semifinals, the Digicel Fiji 7s Warriors is expected to face Lomaiviti in the final later this afternoon.

The Fiji Warriors are laced with several current national reps Vereniki Goneva, Peni Rokodiva Junior, Pio Tuwai, Jerry Burotu, William Rasileka and Japan based Semisi Naevo while the Lomaiviti side has the likes of 7s greats Waisale Serevi, William Ryder, Waisale Suka, Epeli Ruivadra, Marika Vunibaka, Viliame Satala and Kelemedi Bola.

The Digicel Fiji Warriors defeated Meridian 32-0 to reach the semis and will now face Police Blues at 2pm, who defeated PWD Bure Lautoka 12-7 to reach the semifinals.

Lomaiviti defeated Nasoni Roko's Waimanu in the last quarterfinal by 14 points to nil, to set up a semifinal clash with the Hydro side. Hydro beat Tavua Old Boys 22-0 in the third quarterfinal.

The Marist 7s tournament final will played at 4:40pm. The National 7s selectors will then announce the 25-member World Cup training squad for the defence of the Melrose Cup.
