The Fiji Warriors 15s rugby team is in for a big night when they will take on the newly formed Australian franchise, Melbourne Rebels this Saturday.

The Rebels under the watchful eyes of former Wallabies World Cup winning coach Rod Macqueen won their last two warm up matches against Tonga with impressive results last Saturday in a thumping 54-0 win.

Macqueen said last week they started to see a lot of the team structure, a lot of phases of play coming off and it will be a step up against Fiji.

Stirling Mortlock, Michael Lipman and Luke Rooney should be fit to make their Rebels debut this Saturday against Fiji.

Other Rebels players include Greg Sommerville, Julian Huxley, Adam Frier, Mark Gerrard, Al Campbell, England fly half Danny Capriani and former South African centre JP du Plessis.

The Fiji Warriors and Melbourne Rebels game kicks-off on Saturday at 9pm.
