The Air Pacific Fiji Warriors started their 2009 Pacific Rugby Cup on a high note last night thumping the Fiji Barbarians 47-8 at Lawaqa Park.

The Warriors scored a total of 7 tries to Setefano Somoca, Ben Sadrugu, Aporosa Vata, Alefoso Yalayalatabua, Aisake Katonibau, Nemia Kenatale and Sireli Kaloucava.

Former Fiji Bati Alipate Tani marked his convert to rugby union converting 6 tries and played a grand game in his debut for the Warriors.

The depth in the Warriors team was too much for the young Barbarians who had the services of the players who are preparing for the U-20 Rugby World Cup.

The Warriors will travel to Tonga next week while the Babas will face Savai'i Samoa at home.
